Part 3: Custom GPT and AI Automations- What you need to know

This is the third module of the AI short training program designed for Virtual Elves Virtual Assistants (VEVAs). The focus of this module is to provide a foundational understanding of Custom GPT, also referred to as tailored GPT, as well as AI automations. While the content is technical in nature, it is essential for all VEVAs to grasp this knowledge in order to maintain a competitive edge over other virtual assistant agencies.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

SECTION 1: Understanding Custom GPT

Section 1.1: What is a Custom GPT?

Businesses and individuals are progressively adopting advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to optimize operations, improve customer experiences, and foster innovation. One such notable technology is the Custom Generative Pre-trained Transformer (Custom GPT).

A custom GPT is an AI model specially refined to execute distinct tasks—such as responding to customer inquiries, generating content, or aiding in research—based on a predetermined set of data and guidelines. This customisation process includes training the model on specific datasets, enabling it to deliver pertinent and accurate responses across various contexts.

Custom GPTs can be invaluable for:

  • Personalised customer interactions by responding to inquiries with tailored information.
  • Automating customer support to handle FAQs and reduce workload on human contributors.
  • Enhancing content creation for blogs, reports, and marketing materials.
  • Improving research and knowledge management by summarising information and delivering quick insights.

Creating a Custom GPT is quick and requires no coding. For example, as a marketer, you could build “BrandVoice GPT”, an assistant that writes blog posts, emails, and social content in your brand’s voice.

Section 1.2 How to Create a Custom GPT?

Custom GPT is mostly available on premium plans of AI tools. If your client has that access, you can create a custom GPT. To illustrate, please watch this publicly available 20-minutes video, explaining how to create your own tailored GPT using ChatGPT.

SECTION 2: AI Automations Beginner’s Guide

AI automation works by combining artificial intelligence techniques with automation processes to perform tasks and make practical decisions, similar to how a human might. It uses algorithms as the foundation for its processes, driving the decision-making and actions. 

Even though you may not use AI Automation in your work now, it is important to know its concept in this training. The best way to understand this is by watching this publicly available 8-minutes video on the “Beginner’s Guide to AI Automations using Zapier”, and while the platform may have changed, the main ideas are still valid.

Section 2.1 Examples of AI Automation

1. Blog to Social Media Post

This automation will take a WordPress blog post when published and repurpose it for text posts for social media. Watch the video on how to set up the AI automation.
