Do you want to bump up your sales and get more organic traffic in 2015? If you do, then you might want to polish up your content-making skills. According to a recent study, quality content is still the most important ingredient of a successful online marketing campaign this coming year and if you want to rank on Google and other major search engines, you have to make sure that your site is rich in content that your customers, subscribers, and followers would find useful, relevant, and engaging.
It has been proven time and again that having good content is essential to any online marketing and SEO campaign. However, a research report released by New York-based Conductor underscored the importance of creating quality content to ensure your success this coming year. According to the study, quality content creation remains the top and the most effective SEO strategy for 2015, with 54% of survey participants (which include international digital marketers, B2B and B2C organisations) prioritising this tactic over other SEO strategies that are prevalent today.
Conductor explained that most online purchase decisions begin with organic search. And with organic traffic reportedly accounting for 94% of clickthrough rates for online browsers, the largest companies in the world have millions to lose should their organic channels fail them. If they are successful, on the other hand, they are likely to gain millions of customers and bigger profits. But no matter how big or small a company is, organic traffic won’t start pouring in if they don’t have solid content to entice their audience with.
When it comes to creating content, it is important to always ensure that they are relevant to the products or services a business is offering. They should be engaging, fresh, and timely to keep your audience interested and updated. Any piece of content should also be properly proofread and edited to ensure coherence and readability because a poorly written content will reflect on your company’s level of professionalism. And finally, good content should contain relevant and the appropriate number of keywords and key phrases to make it much easier for your target audience to find them online.
Meanwhile, after quality content writing, frequent website updating (50%) is deemed by the Conductor study as the second-most effective SEO strategy for 2015. Keyword research/management (46%), social media integration (28%), local search optimisation (28%), and frequent blogging (17%) followed in third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively.
