Virtual Elves ‘Help the Philippines’ Donation Page
Locally there are many charities and associations that are helping the worst hit areas such as Tacloban City, Leyte.
We were lucky that out of 9 staff only 2 were directly affected by the devastation and we would like to help them directly get back on their feet.
Here are their stories:
Cherry Bonachita – My Valued PA
Cherry’s home town is Tacloban and her mother and many relatives (mainly senior citizens) were directly affected when the Typhoon hit. Cherry’s brother has made his way to Tacloban to bring their mother and elderly relatives back to Cebu but are currently holed up in their house because of fear of disease and harm from looters. They have no food, water or transport. Their only way out is by private car and that is dangerous and roads are not clear yet of debri. Cherry has worked hard in the last week to acquire accommodation to house the family they are trying to get out of Tacloban and we would like to support her efforts in housing her family temporarily and providing them with food and necessary essentials when they get to Cebu safely.
Cherry has also just advised me she is going to rent shelter for relatives, friends of relatives, and some friends who she’s taking out of the devastated city. She would need to provide food, new clothing and needed house items for all of them. You can visit her Facebook profile for updates – https://www.facebook.com/
Money donated here will go to my paypal account and be directly transferred to Cherry.
Because I am not a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation the only way for me to request your donations is for you to send money through paypal. My paypal id is kristy@virtualelves.com.au and when you log into your paypal account you just select ‘Pay Anyone’ and then pay the amount in AUD you would like. Please also leave a message so I know who it is coming from and I can thank you personally.
Jamie Samaniego – Valued PA to client Cate Kemp of Streamlined Bookkeeping
Jamie was in Leyte with her young child and we have to date only had one small communication from her mum to say that whilst they are alive and unharmed, they have lost everything and are now without water and food for over 5 days. There are dead bodies in the streets and the conditions are worsening. Safety is worrying and there is no way for them to travel out of the area.
We would like to do all we can to collect money to go directly to her mother to pay for the resources to get her out of there safely. We know Cate is beside herself with worry as Jamie has become a friend and trusted PA over the last 5 months.
Money donated here will go to my paypal account and be directly transferred to Jamie’s mother.

Whilst we have also donated to the Philippine Red Cross, we know that people close to us are not receiving any of this relief as yet so we want to assist our people directly, NOW.
We appreciate any support you can give and you will be updated on when the money is sent and how it has helped our people. We have so much and they have so little……Kristy
