Christmas is zooming up, and there are some things that you just have to do before it gets too crazy – I’m thinking, filling your diary with Saturday drinks and BBQ sessions, attempting to get all the Christmas shopping done before all the car parks are gone at the local mall, putting the ham and turkey order in to the butchers, …

But it’s not just about getting your personal life organised for Christmas. There are some tasks for your business that are just as important before you get bogged down with the pre-Christmas madness.

Christmas cards.

That’s right.  The good old fashioned beautiful cards (made of real cardboard, none of this virtual stuff) with a thoughtful and heartfelt personal message to your clients.

Who doesn’t want to receive a gesture of recognition and thanks, and what better time to do it than Christmas?  I think of it as a moment to pause, and say “thanks for a great year and I can’t wait to do business together in the next”.  It helps enhance and develop your relationships with your clients in a genuine way.  You’re not asking anything of them other than to pop your card on their counter or desk, and to understand that you want to say thanks.

It needs to be personal, heartfelt, and appreciated.
